OCCUPATION QUARTET VASE

The Vases are inspired by ancient legends from the feudal era. During that time, society was divided into three classes: Power - Occupation - Pleasure. The Power class consisted of King, Officials, Mandarins, and Aristocrats. The Occupation class included Scholars, Farmers, Artisans, and Merchants. The Pleasure class encompassed Fisher, Forester, Farmer, and Woodworker, representing the four main occupations that Vietnamese people engaged in for their livelihoods:

(i) Fisher: Those who work in the fishing profession

(ii) Forester: Individuals engaged in woodcutting

(iii) Farmer: People involved in agriculture

(iv) Woodworker: Those who work with wood

By combining lacquer materia with the delicate and meticulous art of natural inlay, the artisans have faithfully reproduced the ancient legends, deeply imprinted with the cultural heritage of Vietnam. Additionally, they convey a gentle yet profound message about a lifestyle of freedom, tranquility, and harmony with nature.

For those who love history, Vietnamese culture, and are always eager to explore the stories of artisans through their works, the Occupation Quartet Vase will be an indispensable item in their collection. This will undoubtedly be a meaningful gift not only for Vietnamese people but also for international friends, thanks to the cultural narrative and artistic value embedded in the product
