What is produced will become the heirlooms of the next generation, the pieces that will fill other’s lives with stories and, hopefully, provide comfort and joy in the same manner as we have made them.

The directors of Chez M’Lain, Van and Amelia, have forged a friendship that is more akin to sisters than business partners. Together, Van and Amelia’s combined histories have become Chez M’Lain. They may have lived in different parts of the world, with Van having grown up in Vietnam and Russia and Amelia in the United States and Europe, but their core values are the same. With a love of exploration, learning, adventure, and, most of all, a love of preserving craftsmanship and empowering hardworking women, Van and Amelia believe in the people and traditional talents from the raw material suppliers to artisans, mills and weavers. The two women love what they do and are dedicated to producing quality handcrafted, long-lasting, beautiful pieces; once for the fashion industry and now, for the home.
